Youth Guidance Mentoring & Activities Program

Description

The Youth Guidance Mentoring & Activities Program serves approximately 500 at-risk children in grades K-12th from low-income single parent families annually in Indian River County. The Youth Guidance's primary goal is to provide mentors to the children. Youth Guidance has shifted their focus on One-to-One mentoring to group mentoring. Youth Guidance is dedicated to enriching the lives of children in need through establishing a positive "friendship" with volunteer adults in order to have youth achieve their full potential. The program aims to help level the playing field between these disadvantaged youth and their more advantaged peers. In addition to the mentoring, Youth Guidance provides educational, cultural and recreational programs year round.
