The mission of the Rhode Island Tax Clinic is to provide the low-income taxpayers with the professional resources, support and education in an effort help them understand their tax responsibilities and to aide their financial situations.

Description

Rhode Island Tax Clinic, Inc., is a nonprofit corporation formed to represent low-income taxpayers. The main objective for Rhode Island Tax Clinic is to educate low-income workers about their rights to the Earned Income Tax Credit; other objectives include to successfully represent low-income workers with controversies with the Internal Revenue Service, as well as state and local taxing authorities; and to inform persons with English as a second language about their rights and responsibilities under the Internal Revenue Code.
