Family Promise of Southeast Harris County

Description

We shelter homeless families with children in a network of local churches and rely on volunteers to assist churches with handling the families overnight for one week per church, on a rotating basis.

The Executive Director oversees recruiting church, volunteers, fundraising and case management duties.

Families are screened for their safety and the safety of churches, volunteers and employees, etc. Three families at any given time will be allowed in the program, to ensure close case management. These methods have shown to be about 80% effective for families completing the program at affiliates around the US.
