DCDHC cares for adults and seniors with love, passion, and understanding. We offer assisted living, adult day care, comprehensive activities, educational programs, transportation, and medical support. Our social support systems, opportunities, amenities, and services create independent living and companionship(s). We collaborate efforts in the community and statewide to help support the needs of our clients.
Description
Derrick Community Development & Human Services provides professional day care services for adults with special needs 18 years of age and older. Our day care programs include meals, transportation, companion services, educational and recreational activities and rehabilitation services.
Our Adult Day Care center features a full kitchen offering delicious breakfasts, lunches and mid-afternoon snacks. Daily transportation to and from our facilities is provided by vehicles equipped with wheelchair and walker lifts. We can arrange escorted trips to medical appointments and other activities. In addition to regular on-site visits by physicians, psychologists and other health care providers, we can schedule visits by specialists as required by our clients' individual needs.
Our Adult Day Care center gives caregivers a break during which they can attend to their personal needs, or simply rest and relax, while we take on the responsibility of looking after their loved ones. It offers an array of activities to our clients including classes in basic living skills, challenging electronic and board games, hobby and craft sessions, visits from community leaders, lively discussion groups, television and movies, field trips, casino, special occasion celebrations, and specific activities for mental stimulation. Our professional staff places the highest possible priority on enabling each client to function as independently as possible in a comfortable, clean, safe and secure environment. Our clients are always treated with the respect and attention they deserve.
