Mission Statement

"Windows-On-Our-Waters is dedicated to raising the awareness of school children and the general public concerning the issues of watershed protection and preservation; motivating them and giving them the tools they need to help prevent pollutants from reaching our aquatic, coastal and marine ecosystems and empowering them to become active environmental stewards."

Description

The Windows-On-Our-Waters Environmental Education Program is designed to reach el;ementary school children, their parents and other adults throughout CT and RI. The TidePool Cruiser is a sixteen-foot trailer with a storm drain exhibit, a 45-gallon Travelin' TidePool touch tank and a "Genral Store" of the Sea featuring products from the sea or products that are manufactured from marine resources. The W.O.O.W. experience is innovative and hands-on in nature. Participants are given a reason to care about the marine environment and they are given the tools they need to decide for themselves whether or not to become involved in its preservation and conservation.
