About two years ago, I looked for a cat shelter to volunteer with. I singled out Furry Friends for 2 reasons: 1) They are a NO-KILL cat shelter, and 2) Their cat facility was open, spacious, well-cared for, and most of all, the cats enjoy a fenced-in patio called a "catio". When I toured their facility, I knew this was the only shelter in my area I could volunteer for. I had never seen shelter cats co-existing in multi-room spaces. There's cat furniture set all throughout the facility, with cat shelves, many scratching posts and towers, and the catio that has all of those things in a safe space. I started off fostering kittens, then adopted one of my fosters, and transitioned to PetSmart shifts. Furry Friends truly cares for all their cats and works hard to find the proper forever homes for them all. They are very compassionate and provide life-long care for the cats that, for whatever reason, may not be adopted.
This group is so compassionate about their kitties. I fostered a litter for Furry Friends one time, at least I thought it was suppose to be one time. Here I am fostering 4.5 years later! Each kitty taken in gets very spoiled and well cared for. They never turn their back on their adopted kitty nor their new owner for the life of the cat. Once a Furry Friend kitty, always a furry friend kitty. They provide a wonderful shelter with a home atmosphere including a huge catio, and many bird and squirrel feeders to entertain them! It is so clean and comfortable that I want to move in! Thank you fellow Furry Friends Volunteers for all you do!
