The Nevada Diabetes Association is not affiliated with any national organization. All funds raised are used for services in Nevada and neighboring California communities. The organization works to raise awareness of diabetes though community programs, improve the lives of children and adults with diabetes and their families and reduce the incidence of diabetes and it complications though partnerships with other organizations, businesses and agencies whose goals like ours are to improve the quality of life for people affected by diabetes. Services and programs include: Five diabetes camp programs for children and two family camp programs. Continuing Education Programs for Health Care Professionals. Chronic Disease Self-Management programs and training Free Diabetes Screenings Free Books and Materials on Diabetes. Free Diabetes supplies and medicine to people with diabetes in need. Support and assistance to other community organizations and agencies. Diabetes information and resource services. Advocacy for issues pertaining to diabetes, healthcare and disabilities.
