The SSCCSD is a non-profit 501(c)(3) founded in 1995 with the mission to assist all Sudanese refugees in their resettlement through education, social, economic, and cultural support. We guide them towards self-sufficiency and full integration into American society while respecting their dignity as new Americans. We also assist to provide aid to children in Southern Sudan. Many Southern Sudanese children in Africa are orphans who lost one or both parents due to war and genocide. We support these children with medical , education, and other basic life needs as well as our community.
Here at the center we offer free computer labs, sewing classes, Arabic and Greek classes, drug & gang prevention and awareness. We also offer nutrition and healthy living guidance for youth and seniors. Tutoring and after school programs for children ages kindergarten through the 12th grade. In addition the center provides employment resources and transportation for patients, elders, families, our youth that play sports and after-school programs. We also offer the sports, arts and other activities to keep our youth involved and active in our neighborhood.
