Through the power of human-horse partnerships, Horseplay Therapeutic Riding Center enhances the lives of people with disabilities.

Description

Horseplay is a year-round riding program, affiliated with the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH), that provides structured riding sessions for people with disabilities and special needs. The program offers 45-minute riding sessions on Saturday mornings (9:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., Tuesday evenings (5:15 p.m., 6:15 p.m.) and Wednesday evenings (5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m.). We have an wonderful herd of five horses--we call them the "Fab 5"--and the horses' relationship with our riders is uplifting and sometimes transformative. Our riders range from severely disabled to those who ride independently. Join us in creating and experiencing the the positive experience that is Horseplay!

Horseplay is a wonderful place to help make a difference in the lives of disabled children and adults. If you are looking for a therapeutic horse backing riding program, this is a wonderful volunteer opportunity. Do you need horse experience? No! Does it help to have horse experience? Yes. All you need is heart to help!

It is fun to interact with the public and to have a good time with them. Also because you get to be with horses for the day.

What an incredible program! Everyone there was very nice and accomodating. Eager to help you learn how to volunteer! I loved it! Knowledge of horses is helpful. The horses intimidated me, unfortunately! Here is your chance to volunteer with children AND animals!
