Mission Statement

It is the purpose of the Polk County Humane Society to alleviate conditions contributing to the distress and suffering of animals, promote their health and welfare, operate a shelter for abused, abandoned or unwanted animals and to adopt such animals to suitable homes.

Description

Shelter dogs and cats who are homeless. Provide shelter and medical care for these animals. Spay and neuter these animals prior to them being adopted through the services of a veterinary.

Polk County Humane Society is a rural shelter that is filled with caring, devoted folks (volunteers~staff~board members) who work hard to find every opportunity possible for the animals in their care. PCHS appreciates every one who helps these rural cats/dogs.
