Vetri Foundation for Children

Description

Vetri Foundation for Children is committed to changing the school lunch programs in undeserved areas of Philadelphia. We do this by creating meals that are locally grown and freshly made while working within the federal guidelines for government subsidized school-meals.

Additionally, the program includes a pyschosocial approach to the traditional lunch room by conducting all meals in an interactive family style manner. It is our belief that so many important issues and skills are learn around the family dinner table. A significant percentage of the children we serve are not given the opportunity to have this shared experience. Our approach has these skilled learned and practiced in their school setting.
