Pennsylvania Reserve Corps
The PA Reserve Corps is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to serving the people of Pennsylvania. We are men and women, military veterans and civilians, skilled professionals and students, who are committed to maintaining, protecting, and improving the well-being of our communities.
Thank you for your interest in the Pennsylvania Reserve Corps. The mission of the Pennsylvania Reserve Corps is to provide services that are necessary to maintain, correct, and promote general safety, health, and well-being to the people of Pennsylvania.
The Pennsylvania Reserve Corps is registered with Office of the U.S. Surgeon General's Medical Reserve Corps and FEMA's Fire Corps.
The organization has three main components: emergency response team, public health and safety education, and general volunteerism. Structure Information of PA Reserve Corps
PA Reserve Corps provides support and augments the capacity of local fire, medical, police, and federal emergency services in the event of a mass casualty event.
PA Reserve Corps can support local services including first responders, area hospitals and extended care facilities in times of major emergencies or disasters.
Pennsylvania Reserve Corps educates and trains area professionals who contribute their skills and expertise through volunteer service to communities in order to respond to community needs.
The organization promotes health and wellness through community outreach programs.
This is accomplished by:
- Identifying health and safety risks in the community
- Promoting healthy lifestyles through education
- Making recommendations to local, county, and state officials
Some of the primary targets of PA Reserve Corps community outreach program include adult and childhood obesity, smoking cessation, sleep wellness, childhood immunizations, teen pregnancy, and drug and alcohol abuse.
