Mission Statement
NYC Audubon is a grassroots community that works for the protection of wild birds and habitat in the five boroughs, improving the quality of life for all New Yorkers.
Description
Since 1980 New York City Audubon has been the only environmental organization exclusively devoted to protecting the wild birds of New York City and their habitat. Through innovative education programs, strong advocacy, birding programs for all New Yorkers and scientific research, we seek to understand how our urban environment affects birds and how to make our city better for birds and humans alike. Volunteers are integral to our mission - collecting citizen science data, helping out with office tasks, participating in our restoration efforts and acting as advocates all over the city.
