Description

Children of the Nations (COTN) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising children who transform nations. Founded in 1995, the organization currently provides holistic care to orphaned and destitute children in Sierra Leone, Malawi, Uganda,Liberia, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic. By partnering with nationals, they establish full-care residential Children's Homes (for orphans) and Village Partnership Programs (to benefit orphans and children living with destitute families or caregivers who are unable to properly provide for them). Children of the Nations believes that true, lasting, and meaningful change to a nation begins with the children, and so they are their mission.

I became a volunteer for Children of the Nations in August 2014 and found it to be an awesome experience. Not only was I able to contribute to sponsorship efforts for orphaned/destitute children, but I also found the COTN volunteer coordinator and team members such a joy to work with. Every individual I interacted with was equally pleasant and, seemingly, passionate about the work that COTN does. I found being a Data Entry Virtual Volunteer to be very easy and exciting work and often found myself praying for the children whose online profiles I worked on. Although I am not currently volunteering with COTN, due to parental responsibilities, I intend to stay connected and offer my assistance again in the future. I support COTN as an organization that truly makes a difference in others' lives for the better and would recommend them as an awesome volunteer opportunity.
