Mission Statement

The mission statement of Lafourche Parish Court Appointed Special Advocate Incorporation, is to be an independent and objective presence in the courts by speaking for the best interest of abused and neglected children of Lafourche Parish. We promote and support trained community volunteers to represent our children and help secure for each child a nurturing, safe and permanent home.

Description

CASA of Lafourche Volunteers are appointed by the court to advocate for the best interest of the abused and neglected children in the parish. Their purpose is to find a safe and permanent home for these children. The advocates will visit with the children and speak to everyone involved in the child's life to determine the best placement. CASA Advocates are the Voice of these children. The advocates go to court every six months and make recommendations to the Judge regarding the child's placement, education, medical needs, visitation schedules, counseling services, etc.
