Mission Statement
This organization is a group of Americorps, Youth-in-Service members in Olympia. The three of us work with kids in non-profits and elementary schools in Thurston County. We are putting on a day of workshops for kids to learn more about civil rights for our Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. day project.
Description
This Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. day project will teach 3rd-5th graders about feminism, non-violence, US civil rights, and global civil rights. There will be discussions, art activities, small group work, and other activities for the kids to learn in a hands-on environment. We will provide lunch and snacks to the volunteers and kids. There will be a volunteer workshop prior to MLK day so that we can all be on the same page with our expectations and level of understanding.
