Mission Statement

To recruit volunteers to become Court Appointed Special Advocates for abused and neglected children in Hawaii.

Description

Our mission is to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children who are involved in the Hawaii family court system.

We promote and support community-based volunteers, certified by the Judiciary of the State of Hawaii, who provide quality advocacy to help assure each child a safe, permanent, nurturing home.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) are the only volunteers that are appointed by a judge and empowered to stand up for an abused or neglected child in court.

CASA volunteers are well trained, with no less than 40 hours training prior to being assigned to a case.

Volunteers are supported by local CASA program staff with professional backgrounds in the legal and child welfare fields.

The next training class on Oahu starts on Saturday October 5th, 2013. Applications should be mailed in by September 27th, 2013.
