Mission Statement

Farm King teaches middle school students at Thomas Star King Middle School how to grow their own fruits and vegetables. Farm King's programs inspire students to be stewards of the Earth, teaches civic skills, work ethic, nutrition, and science, through gardening.

Description

Students from Thomas Starr King visit Farm King as part of various classes as well as part of an after school enrichment program. While at the garden, students participate in all aspects of garden life from planting to harvesting to cooking and eating. In addition, students use the garden as an outdoor classroom to study science, nutrition, art and other disciplines.

Farm King is entirely run by volunteers.
