Cabrillo Music Theatre’s mission is to introduce the musical theatre experience to socially, culturally, economically diverse, and underserved populations of Southern California. Cabrillo’s 2010-2011 Season anticipates reaching more than 125,000 people through our main stage, off-stage, and special productions, as well as our award-winning OUTREACH programs. Since 2005, Cabrillo’s OUTREACH programs have included over 27,000 underserved, Title I children, in-need seniors, and active military troops, all free of charge.

Description

Cabrillo Music Theatre is an Ovation Award Winner and the Resident Musical Production Company at the Bank of America Performing Arts Center at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, the largest theatre between Los Angeles and San Francisco. For over three decades, Cabrillo has enriched life in Southern California, providing extraordinary performing arts through live musical theatre. Cabrillo is a volunteer based non-profit theatre company presenting award-winning musicals with full, live orchestras, lavish sets and costumes, and premier talent.

In 2008, Cabrillo won six (6) Ovation "Tony" Awards, the most of any theatre in Southern California. Cabrillo received the 2008 Los Angeles Daily News Reader’s Choice "Best of LA" Award for Live Stage Productions, an award for which 1.5 million monthly readers of the Daily News had an opportunity to vote. In 2009, Cabrillo again won the 2009 "Best of LA" Award. Cabrillo’s OUTREACH programs have been honored for two consecutive years by the Conejo-Las Virgenes Future Foundation’s "CLvFFie" Community Service Award, and have received commendations from the California State Senate and Assembly.
