Mission Statement
The Museum of Natural History of the University of Oregon was established to further the general mission of the University by enhancing public knowledge of the natural history and anthropology of Oregon and of the broader world.
Description
The UO Museum of Natural History is a place where you can travel through time: from fossils millions of years old, to prehistoric artifacts thousands of years old, to basketry and other cultural items decades or hundreds of years old, to folk art or animal and plant specimens of today. Long-term exhibits explore the archaeology and fossil history of Oregon, and changing displays cover animals, plants, environmental topics, and traditional human cultures. The museum also sponsors lecture series, workshops, field trips, guided group tours and special events for families and children of all ages.
