To enhance the productivity of low income workers, medical personnel and social service agencies throughout the developing world through the use of America's recycled bicycles.

Description

Pedals for Progress gathers unwanted bikes from the mid-Atlantic region of the United States and ships them to pre-qualified non-governmental partner organizations who provide bikes to poor people in the developing world at minimal cost. The bikes are used to stimulate local economies by putting them in the hands of workers, entrepreneurs, medical personnel and incorporated into skill training programs.
