Mission Statement

CASA Program of Beaver County, Inc., is committed to recruiting, training and assigning volunteer advocates who will provide accurate information to the Beaver County court system, that will assist the courts in deciding the resolution of the case that best meets the physical, emotional and psychological needs of the child. All children have a right to a permanent home that provides loving, caring, respectful and safe treatment.

Description

A Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer is a trained citizen who is appointed by a judge to represent the best interests of an abused/negelcted child in court. A CASA volunteer provides a judge with carefully researched background information of the child to help the court make a sound decision about that child's future. Each case is as unique as the child involved. The CASA volunteer must determine if it is in a child's best interest to stay with his or her parents or guardians, be placed in foster care, or be freed for permanent adoption.
