Tips 4 Teens, Inc. was established in 2002 and has been serving the Clayton County community since 2008. Tips 4 Teens was established in response to the skyrocketing rates of teenage pregnancy, increased school dropout rates, drug use and violence. Our programs integrate Glasser's Choice and Beck's Cognitive Behavioral concepts. Both theories combined have been found to change maladaptive self-defeating behaviors, negative thought processes, improve self-esteem and help youth build closer relationships with care takers and others. Tips 4 Teens' provide enrichment activities, tutoring, and mentoring programs. Our goal is to expose youth to new experiences and to bring awareness about family, the community, education, health and wellness, and economic empowerment. Areas of focus include improving self-esteem, decision-making, conflict resolution, peer-pressure, and substance abuse. In an effort to improve these areas Tips 4 Teens collaborate with parents, the community, churches, and schools.
