The Wright County Historical Society (WCHS) is a public 501(c) non-profit organization whose mission is to collect, preserve and share our history through the location, discovery, collection and preservation of historical artifacts and records. Our vision is to serve as the collective historical memory of Wright County, present exhibits that use historical materials related to the county, provide a comprehensive genealogical research facility, and connect to diverse audiences through a variety of methods.
The Wright County Historical Society is located at the Wright County Heritage Center in Buffalo, Minnesota. It consists of nearly 8000 sq ft of gallery space and a cutting-edge genealogical research library. Our Archivist and librarians specialize in helping patrons research their own ancestry using online and paper files. WCHS also provides many presentation, event and lecture opportunities on a number of topics, including our famous History of Tractors series, our annual Dessert Extravaganza, an indoor Festival of Trees and much, much more. WCHS prides ourselves on providing many hands-on interactive exhibits, making for great tours and a family-friendly place to visit. We are open Monday-Friday and admission to our galleries and library is free.
