Mission Statement

The Animal Cancer Foundation (ACF) funds comparative oncology research to benefit people and pets. Effort is made to identify research in the critical initiating phase when other funding is not yet available.

Description

Since both the human and canine genome have been mapped, and because dogs spontaneously contract cancer similar to humans, they are a critical untapped study population in cancer research. ACF does not support research that induces cancer. Clinical trial is offered to participants in their veterinary office and may involve saliva swabs, blood draw or tissue sampling.
