Mission Statement

The Compeer program of Mental Health Association in Ulster matches caring trained volunteers with adults who receive mental health services. These supportive friendships help individuals to isolate less, experience fuller lives,stay well and reach their goals.Compeer Volunteers are always needed to help MHA fulfill it's mission to engage all people in optimal mental health.

Description

Make a friend and change a life! Compeer Volunteers give 4 hours a month and share activities like talking on the phone, movies, going out to lunch, shopping,taking walks, etc..Participate in monthly group activities too. Receive training and supervision and be part of a fun and rewarding program!

What a warm and welcoming program. I felt right at home and really enjoy the person I am matched with. Bernadette did a great job training me and her enthuasiasm made me excited to begin. I have been matched for 5 months and feel like I am really making a difference.
