The mission of Pinellas County Volunteer Services is to promote, recruit and place citizen volunteers in their county government and facilitate the involvement of Pinellas County employees in community events and projects.

Pinellas County depends on volunteers to help provide residents and visitors with the best service possible. Volunteers in Pinellas (VIPs) directly impact the high quality of life we have grown to expect here in Pinellas County. As a VIP, you can make a difference, too. I am volunteering in the Risk management department in the administrative area to assist with filing. I have found the people to be very pleasant to work with. I have gained knowledge on how our local government works and have benefitted from the experience. I would recommend volunteering to anyone interested, especially because they have experienced cuts in staffing and services. It is one way to give back to the community

Pinellas County volunteer services pairs individuals with organizations that are suitable for them. Individuals can work in the parks, museums, botanical gardens etc. I personally volunteer at Fort De Soto Park and love every minute of it, the employees are very grateful for the help volunteers provide and help in any way they can. My volunteer work witj the County has been very rewarding and I would recommend it to anyone. I am very grateful for the opportunities I have had volunteering at Fort De Soto!
