Mission Statement

Habitat for Humanity International is an ecumenical, grass roots Christian ministry with the goal of eliminating poverty housing and homelessness. Unwilling to accept the fact that millions of people live without adequate shelter, Habitat challenges individuals, churches, companies, foundations, and other organizations to join in partnership with the poor to change the conditions in which they live.

Description

Our mission and charitable mission of Christian churches are the same-to help God's people. We are truly, "building more than houses." Our volunteers help build some of the finest homes found anywhere...simple, decent and affordable homes, sold at no interest (no profit to Habitat) to our partner families. Since 1981 the Paducah-McCracken County Affiliate has built an amazing 51 homes! We plan on building 6 new homes in 2002. We need volunteer labor to continue our mission. We have construction professionals supervising all of our home building and they are trained to work with and teach volunteers to help.
