Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
M.O.R.E. is a multicultural community-based organization that empowers people of many races, cultures and ethnic backgrounds to live and work in peace to combat racism and to change societal structures that contribute to keeping people in poverty. This is accomplished through the concern for the basic needs of people in poverty, organizing, leadership development and the formal education of disadvantaged adults.
M.O.R.E. is a spiritual organization made up of people with different spiritual beliefs. M.O.R.E. is committed to the nurturing of each person's spirituality which gives each member the strength to work for justice and the compassion to always know..."We've been there!"
M.O.R.E.'s formal education program teaches adult refugees and immigrants from around the world the life skills that are needed to live successfully in the United States. Those skills include the ability to communicate effectively in the English language, to calculate solutions to everyday problems using basic math principles, and to be able to use a computer to perform basic tasks.
M.O.R.E.'s social service program provides many types of services, including basic needs (free food Friday mornings and free clothing, furnishings, andn household goods Saturday mornings), case management, and mental health services.
