Rescue and hand-raising of orphaned kittens, fostering of momcats and kittens from shelters, and eventual placement of altered ten week olds or older... and, breed rescue of all recognisable breeds that enter shelters in areas where we have foster homes. We do adoptions through our website, and also do remote adoptions at Petco. We are being evaluated by Petsmart this week for remote adoptions there, also. We also own and moderate the "Pu_R_R_S" e-mail list on yahoogroups. This email list serves around 150 individuals and members of other breed rescues, so that we can network when needed. Networking saved 96 out of 107 Turkish Angoras in a breeder's home in WVA last year, when the breeder became schizophrenic and abandoned her cats. No one group could take that many, but with teamwork, all but 11 animals were rescued. (2 of those not rescued were felv positive and were euthanized, the other 9 went to animal control in WVA and were euthanized. 25 of those that WERE rescued went to a felv sanctuary whose director is on our email list.)
