Description

Mullen Home for the Aged in Colorado has been meeting the needs of Denver's elderly poor for over 100 years, since 1917. It was originally created with the backing of J.K. Mullen, a prominent philanthropist and business leader in Denver. Throughout the years, the Home has grown to include various levels of care including 17 apartments for independent living, 5 units for assisted living, and 42 intermediate nursing care rooms - all permitting the experience of security and comfort during old age. The Home offers many unique features including: private rooms for each Resident, full-service dining facilities, daily activities and pleasure outings, indoor and outdoor gardening, a library, a gift shop, a coffee shop, and a chapel for all religions. The high tier of care offered at Mullen Home is unsurpassed in the Denver region and features occupational and physical therapy, social services and rehabilitation, dietary services and prescribed therapeutic diets, and onsite medical, dental, and eye care facilities for the on-going assessments of Residents’ needs. The Little Sisters of the Poor live in the home and are available to the Residents twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. A staff of professional men and women and over 100 volunteers support the Little Sisters’ attentive care and selfless mission.
