Our mission is to empower adolescent girls by building character and confidence one school at a time.

Description

Sisters Inspiring Sisters Mentoring Group, Inc. (SIS) is an after school mentoring program offered to female high school students. The mentors will be comprised of highly qualified female college students. The college students will be recruited, interviewed, and trained to provide exceptional mentoring services. Mentoring will be offered weekly in a group setting inside of the high school(s). The high school students will be given a curriculum to discuss in an open forum. They will receive encouragement, resources, and life skills training. In addition, they will be given creative writing assignments, workshops, and interactive activities. High school students will be partnered together to inspire each other and build community within the school.

I wish I had mandatory classes like this, I would have had less time to get pregnant and drop out of school. I have my GED, I got it after my second child. I feel as though life rolls in circles, what goes around comes around (which means your children follow you).
