Our mission is to glorify God by providing a continuum of quality care and services that demonstrates the love and compassion of Jesus Christ.
Resthaven is a non-profit, community owned organization with a Christian mission to serve seniors. With over 60 years serving the Holland and Zeeland areas, Resthaven offers warm and welcoming communities and health care services focused on the needs of seniors. Resthaven is dedicated to supporting the best life possible for each and every one of our honored elders - a life that is right in joy and purpose. In October 1944, representatives of 17 local Reformed and Christian Reformed churches met to discuss the growing need of seniors in the community. It was decided that Holland needed its own Christian home for the aged. What was first know as "Holland Home for the Aged" was incorporated as Resthaven Patrons, Inc. in May 1945. The founders' intention for the project was to be just what its name implies, a Haven of Rest for the elderly and retired people who need and deserve a quiet place in which to spend their sunset days. Today, Resthaven Care Community serves over 300 seniors through MapleWoods assisted living, The Maplewood Cottages, The Warm Friend independent living, Resthaven Care Center, The Good Shepherd Home, and Boersma Cottage. It is the mission of Resthaven to glorify God by providing a continuum of quality care and services that demonstrates the love and compassion of Jesus Christ.
