Vision Statement The vision of CAROLINACOMMUTER.COM (CCDC) is to create an online information system to assist in the reduction on our roads of an increasing number of single occupancy automobiles which multiply traffic problems and create congestion during peak travel hours. It is our belief that more efficient commuting methods will ultimately result in a safer and more environmentally responsible community. CCDC will: Provide regional commuter related information to give individuals, private organizations and government agencies a means to evaluate their existing approach to commuting. Offer links to public and private research material and expert opinions relating to commuting. Promote the use of local public transportation systems, the benefits of ride sharing and the development of safe cycling and pedestrian thoroughfares in our communities. Offer interactive databases providing local public transportation systems and scheduling information, ride sharing and van pooling resources and geographic information system indicating motor routes, dedicated cycling lanes and pedestrian friendly thoroughfares. Provide practical and comprehensive information to increase commuter awareness within the region. Host online discussions to promote collaborative applications of commuter transportation information.

Our Organization Carolina Commuter Solutions is a company founded on a single guiding principle. We believe that by weaving safe and environmentally responsible commuting methods into our social fabric, commuters will improve their overall work experience and at the same time play an important role in improving the quality of the environment. Our company philosophy is, to the best of our ability, to offer commuters a well informed educational experience by which to assess their approach to transportation and to offer commuter information systems and services that provide attractive, functional and viable alternatives to driving alone in an automobile. We question our region's ill-fated worship of the automobile and we are deeply concerned about our nation's dependence on foreign energy supplies. We are dedicated to increasing awareness of the necessity to improve our region's public transit systems. We are equally dedicated to increasing awareness of the urgency to reverse the current trend of turning undeveloped urban areas into thoroughfares and storage facilities for automobiles. Carolina Commuter Solutions' products and services emphasize the notion that every commuter in our region possesses the potential to improve road safety, reduce traffic congestion and preserve the quality of our environment. We recognize that along with that undeniable potential rests the responsibility to take action! Our management Team Nelson Ohl - Project Director Drawing on a his experiences in Annapolis, Baltimore, San Francisco, New Orleans and Washington DC, Carolina Commuter Solutions' company founder and president, Nelson Ohl, is developing creative and useful commuter information systems for commuters in the North and South Carolina region. Nelson began his professional interest in transportation while receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Transportation from the California Maritime Academy just north of San Francisco California. Later he received a Masters of Science degree in Information Systems Technology from the George Washington University in Washington DC. Leading both technical and business interests for Carolina Commuter Solutions, Nelson possesses a keen awareness of the need to think practically and act responsibly as it applies to our region's developing transportation challenges.
