Mission Statement

Based on the Core Curriculum Content Standards adopted by the New Jersey State Board of Education in 1996, The Rutgers Academic Challenge brings to life the dynamic and interactive ways in which students learn in todayâ s classroom and showcases new standards for academic achievement and assessment. Designed to promote academic excellence among New Jerseyâ s high school students, the primary goal of the Rutgers Academic Challenge is to inspire and reward the intellectual achievements of New Jersey youth, while fostering state pride. It is also our goal to continue to build a statewide competition that cultivates relationships between New Jerseyâ s future leaders, the Rutgers community, local and state government, various corporations, and the community at large.

Description

The Rutgers Academic Challenge is an interscholastic competition where teams of New Jersey high school students tackle hands-on, multidisciplinary activities that engage their knowledge and analytical thinking. The event consists two first round tournaments and a semi-final tournametn that culminates in the top 3 teams competing for the title of state champion.
