Mission Statement
The Youth Pride Alliance celebrates the dignity and courage of all young people as they discover their identities as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or straight, and challenges society to stop the hate, the violence, the fear, the isolation, and the denial. Every young person deserves to live, love, and be loved.
Description
Founded in 1996, our primary event every year is Youth Pride Day, a weekend-long celebration for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and sexually questioning youth every April in Washington, DC. We also sponsor a youth leadership conference every winter, town hall meetings, and dances throughout the year in the Washington D.C. metro area. We are a volunteer-run 501(c)3 non-profit agency. We are always looking for new people to get involved in our events, fundraising, and organizational leadership.
