Mission Statement

To provide immediate reentry services to adjudicated juveniles, and to further promote initiatives designed to develop and nurture the intellectual, mental, and social skill sets of other at-risk youth. We expect that our efforts will instill new expectations our young men and women have for themselves and that the community has of them.

Description

The goal of New Expectations is to administer programs and initiatives that provide troubled youth with strategies and the resources necessary for their successful transition from the ranks of the disadvantaged. Through these transitional efforts, among our other community activities, we seek to accomplish the following objectives:

  • Challenge and motivate troubled youth to develop new attitudes and perceptions that recognize an appreciation of, and respect for, the laws of government and the legal process in our society.

  • Build the self-respect and esteem of troubled youth in order that they may embrace a greater sense of respect for the rights of other people within the community.

  • Present employment options as well as career-development guidance to troubled youth who otherwise would not be exposed to such considerations in the early stages of their development.

  • Effect a change within the psyche of society about our troubled youth through grassroots community activism...believing that such interaction will create a new attitude of acceptance, forgiveness and reconciliation.
