Mission Statement

The mission of the Youth Orchestra of Palm Beach County is to provide young musicians with an exceptional learning and performance experience and to develop an appreciation of great music within the community.

Description

The Youth Orchestra of Palm Beach County (YOPBC) was created 19 years ago in response to the elimination, due to budgetary constraints, of orchestral music programs from Palm Beach County public schools. What began as an all-county honors orchestra in the spring of 1994 has developed into an outstanding three-tiered orchestral training program for young musicians, ages 7 to 18. Approximately 150 young musicians participate in three orchestras - String, Symphony, and Philharmonic - and numerous chamber ensembles which rehearse and perform from August to May each season throughout Palm Beach County.
