Mission Statement

Barry Lawton has lived in Dorchester for 28 years and is a teacher for the Boston Public Schools. He now teaches history at East Boston High School and has taught at Dorchester, Jeremiah Burke and Madison Park High Schools. Along with his teaching experience, Barry has wide experience in government as a legislative advisor, press secretary and economic development consultant. As a volunteer he has served on the board of the Col. Daniel Marr Boys and Girls Club, as Chair of the All Dorchester Sports League and Chair of the Dorchester Day Celebrations Committee Senior Salute. He has two children, Asberry and Sarah, who attend Boston Public Schools. Barry has been working for years to make the community stronger and the schools better and safer for his children and yours.

Description

Barry believes in community first and has served the community in varying ways for many years and is dedicated to making a difference for the community. He feels that he is best served with gaining the seat to address issues that have gone unmet and voiced for years. It is very important over the next several days we get as much help as possible to defeat the other candidate who has very little experience. The bigger challenge is that we lost by 40 votes in the primary thus Barry is running a write in/sticker campaign. Volunteers are needed as soon as possible. You will make a huge difference and we know the experience will be rewarding. Any length of time that can be given is appreciated.
