Mission Statement

The Literacy Coalition, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was established in 1993 to serve as a Delaware County, Ohio area resource and advocate for youth, adult, and family literacy. The Literacy Coalition is committed to the vision that all individuals should have the necessary skills to read, write, and speak English, with the proficiency necessary to solve problems, and to function on the job and in society.

Description

The Literacy Coalition operates several programs to promote literacy among youth, adults, and families. These programs vary from year-to-year based on the needs of the community and involve partnerships among vested organizations and/or businesses. Our programs include:

  • Book Giveaways
  • After School Homework Help
  • Home Literacy Kits
  • Individual Tutoring
  • Literacy Workshops
  • Adult Basic Literacy Education (ABLE) support
