The Napa County Library Literacy Center is in search of an adult literacy tutor. The position is to provide one-to-one tutoring to a Second Language Learner to improve their basic speaking, listening, reading and writing skills and reach their individual goals. Our community is strengthened, and learners’ lives are improved through this volunteer position.

Come be a part of the Napa County Library's third annual Geek Out Napa Valley comic convention! This event is a celebration of creativity and fandom, with vendors, food trucks, author panels, workshops, live music, a costume contest, and more. We have been happily expanding every year, but this means we need more help. Volunteers will receive a free Geek Out Napa Valley t-shirt! Tasks include: Move tables, chairs, tents, and weights down to mark spaces in parking lot. Put up tents at each table. Set up area for planned events. Help direct vendors/artists to appropriate spots. Work information table, and direct people. At end of day: take down tents, move tables and chairs, and light sweeping.

Reading is one of the most valuable skills you can pass on to someone else Are you looking for a meaningful, fun way to give back to your community? We are currently recruiting volunteer tutors to teach basic reading and writing skills to adult learners and ESL learners. For three hours a week make a significant difference in the lives of adults by helping them reach their goals. Prior experience is not necessary. Tutor training is provided to give you the skills you need to work with an adult learner.

The Napa County Library is seeking a tutor to work with either elementary-level or high-school level students in reading, writing and or math. We are seeking tutor volunteers who have patience and enjoy working with young people. It is an exciting chance to make a genuine difference in the lives of students and make a direct impact. At the library, tutoring is typically done for one hour, once or twice per week. Our aim is to assist children in feeling successful by giving them encouragement, positive feedback and support.
