Mission Statement

The mission of the RBFS is to promote the art of film and, through outreach initiatives, to entertain, educate, and enrich the cultural life of local and extended communities.

Description

The Rehoboth Beach Film Society (incorporated 1998) is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to promote film as an art form through community outreach and educational film initiatives for all ages. Correspondingly the Film Society connects diversified audiences to the cinematic arts by presenting thought-provoking, educational, and entertaining films through a broad scope of community-based programs.

The Film Society produces the award-winning, Annual Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival which screens approximately 100 of the best American and foreign features, documentaries, and shorts. In addition, the Film Society programs sponsors monthly screenings of independent films with a discussion afterwards, administers a film library, hosts a student film group and a children’s film program, as well as sponsoring a variety of educational and community outreach film initiatives and special events in collaboration with several community-based organizations.
