Mission Statement

PowerMyLearning (formerly CFY) is a national non-profit organization committed to ensuring that all children are able to power their learning through a combination of technology and the people who matter most to their success - parents and teachers. PowerMyLearning is committed to ensuring that all students have high-quality learning experiences. Our work leverages technology to foster growth in teachers as instructional leaders; in parents as support partners; and in students as learners who can meet the challenge of high academic standards.

Description

Since launching operations in 2008, PowerMyLearning has served over 16,000 students and their families and coached hundreds of educators in low-income communities throughout the greater Los Angeles region. We are experts at enabling teachers to use technology to enhance face-to-face interactions with students, not just using technology for its own sake. We work with schools that have full one-to-one implementations of iPads and schools that might have very limited classroom technology. Our educator workshops and family involvement in learning are designed to meet the needs of teachers and families where they are, whether that’s simply a basic interest in using digital tools or emerging proficiency with blended learning.

Well organized, excellent personnel and positive impact to the communities they serve. The staff I volunteered with cared about the people they were helping. Lot's of smiling faces from kids and their families. This is something I will volunteer for again. I volunteered @ Washington Irving MS (Glassell Park).
