Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Our instructors and volunteers are dedicated to motivating students to be the best they can in school and on their chosen instrument. Our desire is to spread arts and music into lower-income Philadelphia student's lives, who might otherwise never experience arts and music education.
Rock to the Future is a new, free afterschool music education and youth development program. The program focuses on the incorporation of music education with academics to create success in school and in life by improving cognitive thinking, learning capacity, socialization skills, self-esteem, and creative thinking. Students learn an instrument - their choice of guitar, bass guitar, drums, vocals, or keyboards - and will also receive homework help. Students also attend the free program every day after school until 6pm at the Atonement Lutheran Church in Fishtown.
Students will collaborate with each other across race, gender, and age to write new and original music. Students will also receive homework help so they can achieve academic success. The program is 100% free to the participants, and relies on the donations and support of the community.
