Description
Here is a brief overview of the services we provide!
EOC's Sanctuary Youth Shelter provides runaway, homeless, exploited, or otherwise displaced youth with emergency shelter, a hot meal, clothing, crisis intervention, counseling, and family reunification.
EOC's Transitional Living Center (TLC) offers homeless young adults and young parents up to 24-months of residential and supportive services that promote independent living. The primary focus is to ensure that these young adults successfully transition into independent community members.
Sanctuary Outreach to the Streets (SOS) provides street-based services to transient youth five days/nights a week between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
Teams of peer outreach workers scout the streets, alleys, vacant buildings, and other areas frequented by youth providing them with assistance, intervention and access to basic needs (food, clothing, shelter, and hygiene items), transportation to medical care and recreational activities, and linkages to other appropriate services. SOS also operates a free, on-site drop-in center Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. The Youth Drop-In Center provides respite to street youth, where they can receive a hot meal, wash laundry, take a shower, and recuperate in a safe place.
The Adolescent Family Life Program (AFLP) provides positive interventions to prevent teen pregnancy in high-risk groups and ensures that the health needs of Fresno County's pregnant teens and children of teen parents are met.
Safe Place is a national youth outreach program that educates young people about the dangers of running away or trying to resolve difficult, threatening situations on their own. Safe Place connects youth ages 11-17, who are experiencing crisis to Sanctuary Youth Services.
