Mission Statement

Minnesota Reading Corps is a statewide initiative to help every Minnesota child become a successful reader by the end of 3rd grade.

Description

1 in 4 Minnesota 3rd graders does not read at grade level. Last year the program served 15,000 students and nearly 75 % of the third graders served went on to pass their state reading exams.

The program matches trained AmeriCorps memebers and community volunteers with children from age 3 to grade 3 who need an extra boost to catch up with their peers.
