Mission Statement

Kinship Center's Family Ties program is to increase the chances for children's success by building the capacity of kin caregivers to meet their health, financial, social, emotional, and child rearing challenges.

Description

Many children enter the foster care system or relative care because their birth parents are unable or unwilling to care for them. Many of these children have significant physical, emotional, and/or developmental challenges, or they suffer from past traumas.

Kinship Center's Family Ties makes possible an array of services that build the capacity of relative caregivers to promote children's safety and well being. These realtive caregivers "step up to the plate" and take on the parenting role.
