Mission Statement

The mission of the Boys & Girls Club of the West Valley is to inspire and enable all youth, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to become responsible, productive, caring citizens. Providing a safe, nurturing environment for children, we offer well-planned, supervised activities for youth to have fun, learn, benefit from life-enhancing programs, build their self-confidence and self-esteem, and have the opportunity to build positive relationships with caring adults.

We reach out and serve nearly 3,000 youth from a diverse array of ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, most of whom come from disadvantaged circumstances.

The Club offers young people what they need and want most: adults who respect and listen to them; a safe environment where they can have fun and be themselves; and interesting, constructive activities that channel youthful energy into challenging pursuits. All Boys & Girls Club programs are based on a youth development strategy that builds self-confidence and self-esteem and fosters a sense of belonging, competence, usefulness and influence.

The Boys & Girls Club of the West Valley is part of a nationwide affiliation of local, autonomous organizations that work to help young people of all backgrounds develop the qualities they need to become responsible citizens and leaders. We offer daily access to a broad range of programs in five Core Program Areas: Education and Career Development, Character and Leadership Development, Health and Life Skills, The Arts, and Sports, Fitness and Recreation. Our youth benefit from trained, caring, professional staff and volunteers who help them take control of their lives, envision productive futures, and achieve their goals.
