About Casco Bay High School:

As a small, rigorous, public high school in Portland, Casco Bay's vision is to ensure that each student is known and nurtured, that learning is catalyzed by student inquiry and adventure, and that every graduate will be prepared for college, work, and citizenship. Being part of the national Expeditionary Learning Network--which emphasizes high achievement through active learning, character growth, and teamwork--our staff strives to harness students' natural passion to learn by providing powerful methods for developing the curiosity, skills, knowledge, and courage needed to imagine a better world and to work toward realizing it.

Our student population of approximately 270 reflects Portland's diverse community, with 25% of our students reporting that their home language is something other than English. In addition to the regular challenges that high school students face, these students are also trying to achieve college-ready English language proficiency and remediate academic gaps in their background knowledge.
