Mission Statement

Our mission at House of Hope Mississippi is to rescue hurting teenagers from the destructive forces invading the streets and destroying families. At House of Hope, young people ages 13-17 learn to overcome negative influences that once threatened their lives. The average residential stay is 8 to 18 months. Through education, Christian counseling and spiritual guidance, administered in a loving, home-style environment, efforts are made to heal the hurts of the teen, as well as their family, and where possible, to affect family reconciliation.

Description

Troubled teens are usually unable to respond properly to authority and cannot relate constructively to parents and peers. To deal with those problems, House of Hope provides a loving, stable environment where residents learn to accept responsibility, submit to authority and relate effectively with peers and adults.

This is accomplished through intensive group, family and individual counseling designed to heal fractured family relationships. The residential counseling program provides individual and group counseling for teens in residence at the House of Hope. Family involvement is an integral part of the renewal process. In order to facilitate family reconciliation, parenting classes are required as well as planned family interaction nights. The aftercare program provides an individually designed program according to the ongoing support needed by teens reconciling with their families.

Each resident attends our on-campus school, Hope Academy, which features the Accelerated Christian Education program, enabling residents to fill in educational gaps resulting from poor school attendance and lack of motivation.

House of Hope Mississippi is a faith ministry relying solely on support from generous individuals and organizations with a heart for hurting teens. House of Hope accepts no federal, state or local government aid. No one is ever turned away because of lack of financial ablility.
